Biggest Blunders Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page and Bill Gates

Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Page or Mark Zuckerberg undeniably played a major role in the development of technologies that changed the world.

Behind his great success, great leaders in the world of technology is not infallible. Sometimes, they missed a great opportunity to succeed and be willing to look at competitors triumphed. Or watch the company collapsed without being able to do anything.

What's the biggest mistake they ever did? Here's an example, as we quoted from Income Diary, Wednesday (26/09/2012).

=. Bill Gates ignored search engine online

World's most popular search engines ultimately held by Google that generates billions of dollars in profit. With all their resources, may be Microsoft's success in the field of search engines.

Bill Gates established himself as a genuine visionary founded Microsoft in 1975. But there are some who fail to see the big trends Gates, one of the online search engine.

Indeed, Microsoft's MSN Search was introduced in 1998. In the same year when Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google. But Google is faster, more innovative and quicker to show results.

"We kick 'ass' us," Gates said in 2005, acknowledged the triumph of Google in the search engine sector.

In 2002, Microsoft began to appear clearly made a mistake. Google gain money coffers tremendous business search engine. In 2003, their income reached $ 962 million.

Microsoft does not seem serious about developing its own search engine. Even the data they get search results from Inktomi, a third party. At that time, Microsoft is more focused against Netscape in the browser market.

Microsoft finally began making its own search engine, Windows Live Search in 2006, but still failed to compete with Google. Finally, they released Bing in 2009 were fairly successful, though still very far away from Google.

=. Steve Jobs lost control of Apple

But in the beginning, Jobs apparently did not understand his destiny as CEO of Apple. In 1977, he started off as an Apple executive control and surrender leadership to Mike Markkula.

Steve Jobs to be one of the most successful CEOs of all time. Between 1997 to 2011, Steve led Apple to gain success with charisma and its leadership.

Apple then recruited John Sculley became CEO. Unfortunately, Jobs was not able to control themselves, and often in conflict with Sculley. Jobs eventually completely lost control of the company he founded painstakingly and fired in 1985.

When Markkula resigned as CEO of Apple in 1983, Jobs was ready to become a CEO. However, Jobs had no control at Apple and the board has not approved it as CEO.

John Sculley himself acknowledged that his appointment to CEO is a big mistake. "Looking back, it is a big mistake I ever hired as CEO. I'm not the first choice of desirable Jobs as CEO. Was he the first choice," said Sculley.

Since then, Jobs had watched helplessly as Apple's business plummeted. Something that might not have happened if he was still there. Lucky, fate brings Jobs back to Apple. He guided the company he founded it again a tremendous success.

=. Mark Zuckerberg become the 'face' Facebook

With his genius, Zuckerberg founded Facebook in 2004 that ended up very successful. Zuckerberg was identical to Facebook. Unfortunately, some parties considered this as a blunder.

"I just killed a pig and a goat," read a status on Facebook. It is considered too outrageous and offensive for the animal lover.

Zuckerberg considered less charismatic as the 'face' of Facebook. He is also arrogant and careless in speaking. Perhaps because he was very young.

Portrait in the film world is also not much help. Zuckerberg in the Social Network movie portrayed as a young man carelessly.

In various interviews, words Zuckerberg is seen as less good or inspiring. His performance was even criticized for being too relaxed, especially when Facebook made its debut on the stock exchange.

However, over time the appearance and style of speech Facebook also improved. Apparently, this young man has learned from the experience.

=. Larry Page fails in social networking

We did a lot of things right since its inception in 1998. But like Microsoft fails in the field of search engine, Google also failed in the social networking business.

Page not act despite knowing many social networking is big business. Google recently launched Google Buzz in 2010 which finally closed in 2011.

Page actually know the great potential of social networking. He never bid Friendster USD 30 million in 2003, but to no avail.

"I clearly knew that I had to do something, but I fail to do it," Page said at one point.

Google's new look with seriousness Google+ dihadirkannya in 2011. But until now, Google seems to be less popular. Yet the triumph could rival Facebook.

If only Google mobilizing resources since the first magnitude, Facebook may be lost. As you know, Facebook was originally only a small capital.
