Android Smartphone Market 68% Rule The World
Android is still a king in the smartphone market. Recent research says, Android smartphone shipments market share globally reached 68%, far above its competitors.
As quoted from the Business Insider, Friday (08/03/2012), second place IOS used in the iPhone. According to data from Canalys, the market share of IOS is 16.4%.
At least that findings from research firm Canalys. Approximately 100 million units from 158 million units of mobile phones shipped in the second quarter of 2012 running OS 'green robot'.
One of the biggest factors that make the Android OS is powerful is the dominant current in China is the world's largest smartphone market. In the last quarter, 81% of phones shipped in China using Android. Some are local products such as Huawei and ZTE.
In the third position is the BlackBerry with a market share of 5.4%. Respectively 4.1% next is Symbian, Windows Phone 3.2%, 3.3% and Bada.
"Resurrection of the top brands China due to several factors. Their quick reaction to market demand and in-depth understanding of local consumer habits to be the key to success," said Nicole Peng from Canalys.

RIM Chief Executive said Thorsten Heins, other vendors such as Sony or Samsung could have used their new operating system license, BB10 aka BlackBerry 10.
"Our economy can not compete with those who are releasing 60 handsets a year. We have to differentiate and have a focused platform," Heins said as quoted by the Telegraph, Friday (03/08/2012).
In an exclusive interview, Heins said the company had to find other ways on how to get more budget for the smartphone to enter the market.
Heins statement, raises the prospect that the BlackBerry phones could have been made by other manufacturers such as Samsung or Sony.
"To bring BB10, we need to look at the possibility of a license to a vendor who can do this with the proposition of cost and way more than I do. There are different options that can be done and we are currently investigating," he continued.
Currently he thought his team are investigating this matter so that it is too early to talk about it in more detail. He said, RIM is also discussing this possibility with all financial advisors.
"You can behargaikir we build a reference system, and basically license the reference design, the others build the hardware around it, whether it's BlackBerry or other device that is built on the BlackBerry platform," said the bespectacled man was.
Heins also claimed his company was not at stake. "If you can see, the platform continues to grow. So is the BlackBerry device, a single phone we sold 45 million units," he said.
