HTC Close the Office of Korean (Samsung Affairs)
Seoul - HTC decided to close its offices in South Korea after selling smartphone to compete with Samsung and other rivals.
"This is a tough decision and have a direct impact on the people who contributed to the growth experienced by HTC for several years," said HTC as quoted by PC World, Monday (07/30/2012).
HTC did not say specifically the closure of his office. But Yonhap, a local news agency first reported the news spread that the reason for the closure of offices due to slow sales of HTC in Korea.
HTC has its share of the cake by two percent in the South Korean smartphone market share in 2011, and the remaining one percent in the first quarter of this year. While the Korean vendors, including Samsung, LG and Pantech, dominate about 90 percent market share.
Analysts from research firm Canalys Nicole assess Peng, South Korea is a challenging market for foreign vendors to conquer, including HTC.
