Apple Features FUSION DRIVE

Feature Fusion Drive is actually known for its hybrid hard drive. Well, Apple's version, it works using a 128 GB SSD hard drive combined with 1 TB or 3 TB. Both drives are fused together with the software in a single volume.

When introducing the iMac and Mac mini, Apple introduced a feature called 'Fusion Drive'. Claimed by Apple, Fusion Drive offers nearly the same performance with a solid state drive (SSD), but with better storage and affordable.

Quoted high-tech electronic gadgets from Apple Insider, Wednesday (10/24/2012), hybrid drive is basically counting the most commonly used applications and place them on a faster SSD, while less frequently accessed files or software stored on the drive one or three .

This merger allows a faster 'read' and 'write' without forcing users to put thousands of pure flash based setup. This feature is automatically supported by the OS Mountain Lion, although it is not clear whether the Fusion Drive extended to other machines.

Core applications and operating systems are permanently stored and accessed from the SSD, with the remaining space used for files that are frequently accessed, such as a folder or program.

For example, there is a new application launched by the OS X will automatically be used and stored on the SSD, while the spreadsheet file that has not been modified - for example - diving two years, it will automatically be placed on the HDD.

For example, compared to the baseline 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM, drive to import photos Fusion 3.5 is faster. While the move file is 4 GB 3.5 times faster and 1.7 times the system boot faster.

Marketing vice president Phil Schiller noted that Apple Drive the new Fusion offers the performance of flash with access to more storage.
