Google: Android vs iOS, 'Battle' Biggest in History

Google Chairman Eric Schmict said that the battle between smartphone platforms today is the greatest fight in the history of technology. More specifically feud with Apple iOS Android will shape the future of the technology landscape.

According to Schmidt, Google should be proud of Apple in terms of number of users. Citing a survey that says the Android device already exceeds IOS device. In fact he added that Android could reach one billion users within the next year.

"After a war that the current platform as a form of defining the industry itself," said Schimdit, which refers to the battle of iOS and Android.

Speaking to AllThingsD, Schimdt said that currently there is a 'gang of four' who have significant power in dictating how the world interacts with consumer electronics, and to each other. The company in question is, Facebook, Amazon, Apple and Google.

"There is a great race today, especially between Apple and the Android platform, for additional features of one kind or another," he said, as quoted by us from Apple Insider, Thursday (10/11/2012).

Each company has a different business model, such as Amazon wants to be the biggest store in the world, Schmidt said a large number of resources to be deployed. So that is the benefit of consumers.
